My passion for helping people started in Kindergarten when I was asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I told the principle I wanted to be a nurse. Life went on and I went on to work in several offices as an administrative assistant after high school. I still very much wanted to help people, but life happened and being a nurse didn’t seem to fit anymore. Then when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis in April 2015, my life changed. I hadn’t felt well for over a year, but I took that up to being a mom of 2 young children and age. I started with my Nutrition Response Testing program several months later and I started to feel so much better after a few short months. Then one day that ‘wanting to help people’ light bulb flashed back on and I knew this would be the modality that my life had lead me to. So now I have a Masters in Science for Applied Clinical Nutrition and a certificate as a Master Nutrition Response Testing Practitioner.

I am mother of 2 earthly angels, 2 heavenly angels, and a loving wife. I have no more aches and pains, depression, anxiety or any other constant symptoms and couldn’t be happier. If I’m not in the clinic, life consists of keeping up with superheroes and princess mixed together with dirt and glitter.

My husband describes me perfectly . . . "A person that would do anything to help another. Someone that is helpful, fun, funny and spontaneous. Someone that could hold a conversation and keeps her word. A good loving wife, mother and friend. Someone that takes pride in her work and all that she does.”

I love to travel with my family! I lovingly refer to my home as "My mini farm." We have 2 dogs, 4 cats, and MANY chickens and my farm wouldn't be complete without my 2 human kids (and yes, everyone has a name). I love all healthy fats including large amounts of grass-fed butter, raw milk, kale, and green tea lattes.

My life motto is: Love Life. Live True. Choose Joy.

My story starts back in my home country Suriname. For as long as I can remember, I always had a runny nose. I always had to have a rag or tissue with me. I always thought that I would grow out of it but I never did. In January of 2001, I came to America with my parents an sister. I was extremely excited to come to the US, for the opportunities are endless, best schools. It took me a couple of years before I decided to go a doctor about my allergies/runny nose. I know I wanted a new nose, not knowing that my problem was not my nose.

Before seeing a doctor, I tried everything over the counter to help with my symptoms, but nothing seemed to help.  I finally decided it was time to take a trip to the doctor’s office. I was given an allergy test, which felt like I had a reaction to everything. From there I had to take a steroid shot once a week. I was willing to try anything at this point, but after a month with no result I decide to stop. Not long after I was called back to the doctor’s office, and I was told that it would be best if they scrape my Nasal cavity.

Before I agreed on doing it, I did some reading on my own and found that this procedure only had 50% chance that it would work.  I did not like the idea of having it done. At this point, I lived my whole life with it, and I was willing to continue to live with it. Fast forward a couple years, my wife was diagnosed with Hashimoto. She then crossed paths with Lydia (Healing Roots) at a mom’s expo, and she figured she would give it a try. At this time, my wife was already on medication and some other natural supplement to help her with her symptoms. Within 3 months of being on a nutrition response testing program, my wife was no longer on any prescription medicine and within 6 months she was only taking 1-2 of her other supplements.

The improvement of my wife’s health was night and day. However, as a husband I was a little skeptical and the whole process seemed kind of weird.  Next, my wife placed both of our kids on a nutrition response program and the results where remarkable. For the first time in 8 years, my son was able to play sports and be a normal kid and my daughter no longer had monthly ear infections. I decided then that I would give it a try. The day I met Lydia I told her if she could fix my NOSE (allergies) I would be a “lifer”. She said that she can and that she will do that for me under one condition, give her 3 months of dedication and staying with the program. So, I did, and the result did not even take 3 months. Not long after being on a program not only me, but everyone around me, noticed that I did not have a runny or stuffy nose nor was I carrying tissue with me. I will be for ever grateful of this program, it has changed how I do life. My family is on a great road to being healthy and living full wonderful lives! And I am on my road to helping many more people find their own road to health.
